NAP OF THE DAY: Glamorous Rocket, (1705 Bath), 1pt win, 2/1 generally available
This 3yo filly is following the path of some illustrious sprinting stablemates by making all in three quick wins earlier this year. A subsequent ratings hike has stalled progress, but she was unlucky to be overhauled at Chepstow last time ( the third was 7l behind and has won since). Her blistering early speed should suit this course, and on the lightning surface she could be impossible to catch.
Spiritual Man, (1400 Bath), 9/4: previous form at Bath is a huge plus. Not only is the track layout unique, but it’s altitude prevents irrigation and hence the ground is firmer than any other racecourse. Spiritual Man has placed here twice this year, and now faces by far the weakest field yet. He’s a pound lower and gets a new jockey in the super strong Robert Winston which has to be a plus.
Babyfact, (1430 Bath), 4/1: a five time course winner whose poor form this season has seen her drop to a rating 6lbs lower than when winning here last summer. Is capable of returning to form now back at Bath, and could be too streetwise for some more lightly raced opponents.
Delirium, (1600 Bath), 4/1: won at Chepstow earlier in the year and was a fair third here over course and distance two runs ago. Forget a non-staying attempt at longer last time, and if that previous run can be duplicated off a 1lb lower mark then she should have a winning chance.
