The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Mukalel, (1620 Leicester), 1pt win, 11/4 generally available
Hadn’t shown much in his 4yo season until a massively better run last time. That 5th in a top Goodwood handicap already looks good, and the booking of Ryan Moore suggests business dropped in grade here.
Munfallet, (1640 Catterick), 5/1: Now looking superbly well handicapped on a mark 23lbs below his last winning mark. Loves to front run, this course suits. Looks sure to be leading at the furlong pole, stamina thereafter is unproven, but we think he will be hard to peg back.
Hawridge Flyer, (1745 Catterick), 11/4: has been ultra consistent in southern handicaps without having quite enough in hand to win. Now ventures into the sometimes easier northern circuit and an amateur race under trainer’s son and useful rider Patrick Millman. Ready to win.
Winston C, (1810 Salisbury) 9/4: Hasn’t been seen since running with credit in a series of big handicaps in the second half of last season. Has switched to the mainly jumps yard of Harry Fry, and he can certainly ready them first time out. May improve for the switch and this is a distinct drop in class.
