NAP OF THE DAY: Lady Cosette, (1350 Doncaster), 1pt win, 4/1 generally available
A competitive nursery and it often pays to look for horses stepping out of maidens. Lady Cosette does that for quality trainer Noseda, adopts first time blinkers, is ridden by the wonderful William Buick, and a mark of 79 looks one to go to war with.
Aim Power, (1535 Doncaster), 11/2: a sales race which on all known form lines should be between the filly Aim Power (rated 95) and The Irish Rover (rated 108). A 12lb weight difference almost equates matters, but we suspect Aim Power has the ability to improve past her rating, whilst The Irish Rover looks a fraction flattered by his.
Dougan, (1635 Doncaster), 10/1: This race for lady jockeys offers two solid chances in Ninjago and Eastern Impact. But this is a step down in grade for Dougan, who is back on his winning mark, and has been running well in higher grade of late. The 7lb claim of Poppy Bridgwater can rarely have been as potentially impactful as amongst this crowd.
Mystic Flight, (1710 Doncaster), 15/8: has huge scope to improve after just four runs. That said she need only reproduce her slightly unlucky 3rd in a good event at York last time and it should be enough here. Jockey Andrea Atzeni rides this course with conspicuous success and can bag another one here.
