Sunday’s Premier League football kicks off with a game between Wolves and Burnley.
The season has been tricky for Burnley so far, with Europa League qualification complicating matters as they lie second from bottom. And now they face a Wolves side which has fully embraced life in the top league.
Wolves have already held the champions and handed out a real beating to West Ham, so must be considered favourites for this match.
In Ruben Neves, the home side gave a talented midfielder who is likely to run the show thus afternoon. The 21-year old has already represented Portugal and has been linked to a number of high profile clubs. While he remains at Wolves, we’ll take a punt on him being named man of the match.
The late game sees Everton host West Ham at Goodison Park.
The visitors have had a dreadful start to the season, and currently lie in last position without having won a single point. They now take on an Everton which is unbeaten so far this season, admittedly drawing three out of their four league games.
The home team does have some injury problems, particularly in defence, and this may give West Ham a chance. That said, we at Lap of the Odds really wouldn’t want to rely on a team that has been so porous this season.
We’ll take a chance that Icelandic star Gylfi Sigurdsson finds the net against a side that has a goal difference of -8 after just four games.
Wolves/Burnley: Neves to be named man of the match, 1 pt, at 5/1, BetFred
Everton/West Ham: Sigurdsson to score at anytime, 1 pt, at 3/1, Paddy Power
