Monday Yankee: Princess Set to Reign

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Navarra Princess, (1730 Kempton), 1pt win, 4/1, generally available

This 3yo filly surely has more scope for progress than her declining 9yo market rivals Athassel and Fairway To Heaven.  She will need to progress as she was behind Athassel last time, but the return to Kempton will help, and jockey Rossa Ryan pulled off all-the-way tactics here on her in June, and that could be the model here.

Light Of Air, (1410 Brighton), 10/3:  likely to be favourite here for the useful George Moore yard.  Has a great record at the track including running the legend Roy Rocket close during his mid Summer form surge.  His young apprentice claims a valuable 7lbs and that can be enough to see him home.

Flowing Clarets, (1740 Brighton), 4/1:  capable mare with course form of 4323.  Hated the mud at Goodwood last time but got dropped a few pounds for that blow out and now gets to bring that lower rating back to a course she runs so well.

Downtown Mombasa, (2100 Kempton), 4/1:  She started life in handicaps this Spring off a lofty looking mark of 68. That got her nowhere until a step up in trip and a return to the all weather last time saw some real promise off a reduced rating of 57.  That reads well in this company and she can improve again for a further step up in trip.
