NAP OF THE DAY: Mon Beau Visage (1610 Redcar), 1pt win, 6/1 generally available
We waited patiently for David O’Meara’s experienced handicapper to show peak form, and after an unlucky Thirsk run we napped him at Haydock only for rain to scupper his chances. Good to Firm should be much more his cup of tea, and he has winning form here in the past off a much higher mark. One last roll of this dice.
Long Call, (1520 Yarmouth), 5/4: was a nice winner for us last week under Poppy Bridgewater. Gets the help of Oisin Murphy today and unpenalised for that win this should be a penalty kick. Add in that he overcame issues to win that race and he is probably even better value than it looked for that win. Short but very hard to beat.
Lalania, (1550 Yarmouth), 4/1: This 3yo filly won a maiden here in the Spring and started in handicaps rated 73. That has barely changed after a series of near misses. Now she is back at Yarmouth, in a weak grade, with Oisin Murphy an excellent booking. She can make all on a track that suits that style.
Dubai Frame, (1700 Lingfield), 11/4: Hint Of Grey looks the likely favourite here, but 20 lifetime flat runs include a disappointing effort at only trip beyond 12f, so this 16f trip looks questionable. It should suit Dubai Frame though, who has huge scope to progress, and the form of his good effort at Newcastle last time has already been franked.
