The European Tour heads to the Iberian peninsula this week, with the Oceanico Victoria course hosting the Portugal Masters.
The venue is a wide open resort course, which tends to be devoured by the top pros – Lucas Bjerregaard won last year with a score of 20 under par.
With making birdies key, we’re going to side with an inform player who came close to making the European Ryder Cup team with a string of birdies in Denmark. Matt Wallace has also won before in Portugal in 2017, and he carries our cash.
Our second selection is Nino Bertasio. The Italian lies high up the putting stats on the European Tour and has already shown a liking for this course, he led at halfway last year. It’s true he slipped down the leaderboard to finish 12th, but we’re hoping the experience will help.
Wallace to win, 1 pt, at 30/1, SkyBet
Bertasio 0.5 pts each way at 80/1, 1/5 the odds for the first eight places, SkyBet
