The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Dalton, (1610 Ayr), 1pt win, 10/1 generally available
He has looked progressive for his new yard this season with a career best when second at Ripon last time. Breeding suggests soft should be his surface, and he outran huge odds on his only race on soft last year. Looks drawn near the pace, and should have a big chance.
Infrastructure, (1420 Newbury), 3/1: has looked a lively sort after his maiden win at Salisbury. His 6th last time at Goodwood may look disappointing on first look, but he plugged in well having looked unbalanced on that unusual track, and wasn’t beaten far. This easier event, on a conventional track, under Ryan Moore looks there for the taking.
Rock Force, (1705 Newbury), 11/2 : backed up three decent maiden efforts with an outstanding handicap debut when runner up in a 17 runner event at York. Jockey Richard Kingscote will have learned plenty that day, and the experience will not be lost on horse or jockey.
Make Me, (1720 Ayr), 3/1: Has been knocking on the door but remains a maiden. As a son of mudlark Makfi he was made favourite encountering soft ground for the first time on his last run at Carlisle. He was a decent second there, well clear of the rest and a 3lb weight rise looks generous. Can go one better here.
