NAP OF THE DAY: Pammi, (1710 Hamilton), 1pt win, 7/2 generally available
An in form filly proven on softer ground, Pammi was a close second in a big field at Ayr as recently as Thursday. She nearly pinched it that day being overhauled in the shadow of the line. This slightly shorter trip should be ideal and she won’t worry if there is any more rain.
Jo Binney, (1430 Hamilton), 13/2: A very lightly raced 3yo filly making her handicap debut. This mile should suit better than the 6f of her last promising maiden run. She makes the journey over from Ireland, a significant move for one so inexperienced, has landed a decent draw, and doesn’t have much to beat.
Paramount Love, (1610 Hamilton), 4/1: the 3yos look the place to focus on here and it is Richard Fahey’s filly Paramount Love that makes most appeal. She needs to be forgiven some below par efforts on summer ground, but turn the clock back to the spring and an all-the-way soft ground win at Nottingham could be the blueprint for today’s race.
Traditional Dancer, (1640 Hamilton), 4/1: this hurdler was a fancy of ours when returning to the flat at Carlisle last time. Ran well there albeit narrowly beaten. The softer ground here can help, whilst it may hinder some rivals. Jockey Jamie Gormley claims a useful few pounds.
