Wednesday Yankee: Exciting bet at Redcar

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Someone Exciting, (1800 Redcar), 1pt win, 13/2 generally available

This mare has been placed in 8 of 9 runs here including when an easy winner the last time she ran here in August.  She is only 3lb higher despite running well since, and may be favourably drawn with plenty of pace to chase in the high stalls.

Master Carpenter, (1640 Goodwood), 4/1:  Previously a top class handicapper, he has seen his rating drop a full stone since this time last year – and with good reason.  That said there was some promise of a revival in sixth at Newbury last time, and he now drops down in class of his lower rating.  The booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye, and he looks ready to strike.

Gamesome, (1700 Redcar), 4/1:  Sean Connery coined “never say never again” when tempted back to the Bond role. We’ve said never again about habitual blog troll Gamesome who continues to make narrow defeats a speciality.  He is on an absurdly long losing run, but here’s hoping another drop in class and the excellent Danny Tudhope can finally break the run.

Victory Chime, (1730 Redcar), 4/1:  This front runner has a bit of an all-or-nothing profile.  In fairness his defeats have come in good races at York and Goodwood, today’s test lacks the strength in depth of those events.  Drawn near the rail he is perfectly set up for make-all tactics and has an excellent pilot in Graham Lee.
