NAP OF THE DAY: Little Jo, (1715 Newmarket), 1pt win, 9/2 generally available
Hard to get away from this in form horse’s claims. Was impressive last time, but with this race the consolation for the early closing Cambridgeshire, he gets a fixed penalty that leaves him 6lbs below where the handicapper now has him rated. That is a handy advantage, and could be enough in a race that lacks much quality.
Hazarfan, (1335 Haydock), 13/2: As a well bred son of Frankel he should be a lot better than this mark of 70. He hasn’t really shown it in a brief handicap campaign so far, but he was arguably a little unlucky last time, and this is a pretty weak race. He is entitled to still be developing as a stoutly bred 3yo, and Tudhope in the saddle is always a plus.
Brancaster, (1405 Haydock), 7/2: we were big fans of this guy two runs ago at Newmarket. He disappointed there, but duly won here next time out when we missed him. At the risk of getting his season entirely wrong, we think he has enough improvement as a lightly raced 4yo to follow up here.
Mustashry, (1535 Newmarket), 7/4: did well to win for us at Doncaster when stepped back to 7f. This mile should suit better and with Accidental Agent heavily penalised, Mustashry can win a duel with younger stablemate Regal Reality.
