The big game in the Premier League is the day’s final match, Chelsea versus Liverpool.
The Blues may have ended Liverpool’s 100% winning start to the season in the League Cup midweek but the teams are likely to be different and it may not be wise to read too much into that.
That said, one thing we can take from that game was the form of Eden Hazard. The Belgian midfield star was introduced late in the game and promptly scored a fantastic winner. He has been given a rest by the Chelsea management after his exploits in the summer’s World Cup, but now looks fresh and confident. This game is tricky to call, but Hazard looks a good pick to be the game’s star.
The day’s early game sees Manchester United travel to London to take on West Ham.
A few weeks ago this would have been seen as a certain away win. But times change. The Hammers come off an eight goal win in the Carabao Cup after two strong league performances while Man United lost to Derby and are embroiled in controversy over manager Jose Mourinho’s treatment of star midfielder Paul Pogba.
West Ham will also likely welcome back star striker Marko Arnautovic from injury and he is likely to cause the beleaguered Man United defense some problems. We look for the Hammers to win with both teams scoring.
Chelsea/Liverpool: Hazard to be man of the match, 1 pt, at 4/1, Paddy Power
West Ham/Man Utd: West Ham to win with both teams scoring, 1 pt, at 6/1, Paddy Power
