NAP OF THE DAY: Buonarroti, (1440 Ayr), 1pt win, 3/1 generally available
We know old Buonarroti well, and he was a confident nap at Ayr last time. It looked good for a long time but his late run ended up only good for third. It looks like this longer trip might be needed now. The ground is still on the soft side, although he would love it muddier still. Danny Tudhope has not ridden him since his win here last Autumn, and he should go close if it doesn’t dry out.
Vinnie’s Wish, (1515 Ayr), 9/2: in a field of mostly exposed mid grade sprinters, this Irish raider represents some credible X factor. Very lightly raced but ran well over 7f at Listowel recently. Led at this distance that day before fading late on. Is entitled to improve and may find this sharp 6f much more to his liking.
Jo Binney, (1545 Ayr), 2/1: was an unlucky second when we tipped her at Hamilton last week. That looked a good race snd both the 4th and 5th came out and won races the very next day. This doesn’t look as strong a race and provided she avoid more bad trouble then she looks the obvious pick.
Fly True, (1745 Kempton), 11/4: This mare switched recently to the canny yard of Ivan Furtado who often improves his new recruits. She was backed accordingly at Wolves on stable debut last time but it all went wrong with little luck in running. She still showed enough to suggest losses were only leant, and compensation could well await from a nice draw here.
