Friday Yankee: Put it on the Tab…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Tabdeed, (1500 Ascot), 1pt win, 3/1 generally available

This is a cracking little heat, and the dropped in trip pair of Flavius Titus and particularly Aljady look very interesting.  However the classy Tabdeed could be too hot to handle.  He didn’t get home in the 7f Group 3 Jersey Stakes at the Royal meeting when we fancied him.  It’s interesting that he has not been seen since, he is a bull of a horse for a 3yo, and may have needed time to strengthen.  He could be way better than a handicapper at sprint trips and can prove that here.

Lush Life, (1350 Ascot), 11/2:  This lightly raced filly started with two all weather wins before a steady 4th at Sandown last time.  It’s no surprise she has had just three runs as she is a rangy sort likely to need time to fill her frame.  This straight course should suit much better than Sandown, and whilst there is little correlation between synthetics and Sandown, that is surprisingly not the case at Ascot where all weather form is oddly compelling.

Ortiz, (1425 Ascot), 7/2:  Another with good all weather form, she transferred that to good effect when second here in a huge field at the Royal meeting.  She won nicely back on the synthetics last time and shares top rating with a couple of these.  Her proven track form is the swinging factor.

Ghostwatch, (1535 Ascot), 2/1:  has been a consistent performer all season in top handicaps.  Came good at York, on which form he has the beating of Mekong, and showed a liking for his track when a good second to a decent rival here last time over too short a trip.  Everything looks in his favour here and he should grind out a steady win.
