Enable’s Arc win might have been a bit fortunate, but we’re happy as it maintained a nap winning streak on an otherwise disappointing Arc day. Back to good old mid quality handicaps today…
The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Manson, (1945 Kempton), 1pt win, 9/1 generally available
This is a claiming handicap and has attracted entirely older horses (no 3yos). This is good news for Manson who was a strong finishing 4th in good race here last time behind three progressive 3yos. That was just the latest in a good sequence of hold-up efforts, and with the handicapper finally relenting he can cause a minor upset here.
So Near So Farrh, (1540 Pontefract), 11/8: has looked on a serious upward curve since stepped up to marathon trips. Going and course look ideal having won in similar conditions here recently. Will be ridden with restraint and he’ll be storming home late on.
Mustaqbel, (1645 Pontefract), 9/2: His penultimate effort saw a comfortable win over today’s main rival Power Sail. He should confirm the form on marginally worse terms here.
Moving Forward, (2015 Kempton), 3/1: Lived up to his all-weather pedigree when surging home late to win here last time. Weighted to be close with those he beat, but that was a 5th lifetime run and it took an age for the penny to drop. Looks sure to improve for experience and well capable of defying the small weight increase.
