Tuesday Yankee: Get Green light…

Desperately unlucky not to keep up the nap winning run yesterday with the luckless 9/1 shot Manson…let’s try and pick up the winning thread…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Cricklewood Green, (1600 Brighton), 1pt win, 4/1 generally available

We tipped this gelding for an Ascot win last summer off a rating of 75.  That he turns up here off 59 says a lot about his indifferent form since.  That said he always runs this track well, including his best form for this season when 3rd here over a longer trip.  This is his distance, and he can now win under fine claimer Jason Watson.

Betancourt, (1510 Catterick), 5/1:  a convert from hurdles for his small yard.  Returned from a break with a warm up at Southwell followed by a tidy win at Redcar last time.  Just a 6lb penalty to overcome, and should be suited by the extra trip having won over further when hurdling.

Shortbackandsides, (1540 Catterick), 7/2:  a cracking little heat in which course specialist Extrasolar has to be feared.  But amongst the veterans, 3yo Shortbackandsides is one with scope and arrives after two narrow defeats.  The certain strong pace here should suit his closing style.

The Right Choice, (1655 Leicester), 9/2:  we napped favourite here Compas Scoobie when he won last time, but 6lbs up and back to turf ask big questions.  The Right Choice is young and progressive, was a very good 3rd last time and has the golden 5lb claim of Connor Murtagh.
