Has form figures that may question his resolution (33322), but was unlucky to get nailed on the line last time over 8f at Ayr. Is well drawn to stalk the pace here and the sharper trip can help him break his duck.
Cold Stare, (1520 Musselburgh), 11/2: improved for a sharp 7f when forging ahead at Haydock two runs ago. Didn’t have the speed for Ayr’s sharp 6f but still a good 5th in the Simver Cup. Back at 7f, handicapped to confirm Haydock form and with some front runners to aim at, he can go well under his capable 3lb claimer.
Tyrsal, (1530 Yarmouth), 6/1: a regular in low grade Yarmouth handicaps, and even by his CV’s standard this is a particularly weak affair. Has been running ok, has dropped to a generous mark, and gets the assistance of Mosse in the saddle. Surely will go close in this affair.
Debatable, (1600 Yarmouth), 4/1: hasn’t shown much in a short career, but it is a hallmark of this yard to land the spoils when the money is down. Could be well supported here and the booking of De Sousa looks like a sure statement of intent.
