PGA Tour: Korea’s got talent…

The PGA Tour stays in Asia this week, moving from Malaysia to South Korea for the CJ Cup at the Nine Bridges golf course.

Like this week’s European Tour event, there is an outstanding favourite, the defending champion Justin Thomas. He obviously had a strong chance, but is priced accordingly. We’ll look elsewhere.

Now there are a few players from the PGA Tour who also played last week and so have acclimatised to the region’s conditions. But the players that will be most used to potentially alien conditions are the home players. And that’s where we’re heading.

Local hero Byeong Hun An closed with a 66 in Malaysia last week to show his game is in the right place. He finished 11th here last year and has been playing well in local tournaments. We think he will go close this year.

Another Korean completes our selections this week. Si Woo Kim has plenty of ability, as shown by his victory in the Players Tournament earlier this year. He finished just out of the places last week, and we think he will impress this week.
