Premier League: Hazard/Salah – stars to shine

The Premier League’s weekend starts with a bang on Saturday, with Manchester United’s trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea.

United boss Jose Mourinho may have felt his team had turned the corner have the late victory over Newcastle last time out, but the international break has diluted the euphoria. He now heads back to an old stamping ground having lost his last four games there.

Chelsea are favourites and have one of the League’s in form players leading the line. Eden Hazard has talked recently about his admiration for Mourinho and the potential for working with him again. He is likely to want to impress today, and we like the boosted odds from Paddy Power that he scores from outside the area.

The evening game sees Liverpool travel to Huddersfield. The Reds have drawn their last two league games, not playing particularly well in the process. But those games have been against Chelsea and Manchester City, the other two undefeated teams so far this season.

Huddersfield pose a completely different problem. They have yet to win this season, and are unlikely to do so tonight. The international break may have come at the right time for the Reds, allowing key players Virgil van Dijk and James Milner time to recuperate.

Although there may be changes to the usual Liverpool side, we look to the tried and trusted stars to still dominate. Mohamed Salah looks likely to play today, and we’ll take the 3/1 on offer that the Egyptian star opens the scoring.

Recommendations:

Hazard to score from outside the penalty area, 1 pt, at 16/1, Paddy Power

Salah to be first goal scorer, 1 pt, at 3/1, widely available
