NAP OF THE DAY: Gopsies Daughter, (1440 Navan), 1pt win, 7/2 generally available
This mare won back to back Curragh handicaps in August. Two recent runs here suggest her success may not have stopped, her last effort in a blanket finish being particularly noteworthy, with those around her looking likely to contest the following race here. Owned by our good friend Donal and his gang, there won’t be a keg left undrunk in Fermoy if she wins again.
Gamekeeper Bill, (1340 Fontwell), 7/1: favourite for this handicap hurdle is a 10yo who cant be getting any quicker. The value may lie in Alan Bailey’s 4yo Gamekeeper Bill, whose 2nd of 15 at Huntingdon came on his first completed handicap run, and after just 5 Hurdle runs he is entitled to get better. Few jockeys ride this track better than Jamie Moore.
Canyon City, (1450 Fontwell), 9/4: returned from a break with a good flat run before hacking up last week at Fakenham. That was such an easy win the 7lb penalty should make little difference. Besides, 3lbs of that is claimed off by the brilliant Bryony Frost. Looks a good thing.
Tide Of Time, (1625 Navan), 5/1: absolutely flew in here last time when eased late on after shooting clear of a 23 runner field. On the book should be close with Amazing One. That one should go well here, but Tide Of Time is lightly raced enough to believe in his potential to overcome the weight hike.
