NAP OF THE DAY: Lucky Lodge, (1605 Redcar), 1pt win, 5/1 generally available
Two winners of apprentice races here last week, Lucky Lodge and Gilmer, attempt to follow up off the same marks here. Lucky Lodge was significantly quicker in his win and looks more likely to repeat the form albeit horses don’t get to this basement level by being reliable. His stable have been in decent end of season form so it may be worth trusting him here.
Tommy G, (1355 Redcar), 6/1: ran very well last time at Doncaster in a race whose form is already working out really well. Won off this mark at Glorious Goodwood, should have conditions to suit and has the excellent Danny Tudhope on board.
Mikmak, (1445 Redcar), 11/2: like a bit of soft ground and can enjoy the step back to 10f here. Ran a great race at York last time and should have this run to suit with a number of trailblazers likely to set this up for a finisher.
Buonarroti, (1535 Redcar), 9/2: tipped so often he’s the first capital B option on my predictive text. Has disappointed lately but he needs a bit of knowing and was ridden far too close to the pace last time. Jockey Tudhope knows him well so expect to see his effort left until deep inside the last quarter mile.
