Champions League: Turin torture for United

The Champions League continues tonight, with the highlight being Manchester United’s trip to Turin to take on Juventus.

The task is daunting for United. Juve were worthy winners of the reverse fixture and have won nine of their last 10 home matches, the other being a draw.

It’s difficult to see United getting anything out of this game, and we look for a comfortable home win. United barely offered a threat in their home tie, and we think they will struggle to score in Turin.

However, Juventus to win to nil is a short price, so we’ll take a chance on a correct score. The home side to win 2-0 is best priced at 13/2, and you would normally expect an Italian side to shut up shop at that score. But Juve are more adventurous, and we’ll take a punt with a 3-0 win.

The second match sees Manchester City host Shakhtar Donetsk. City won the first clash between the two easily, with manager Pep Guardiola calling their 3-0 away win one of his team’s performances of the year. They should win going away again.

City are likely to have an abundance of pressure, which should result in a number of set pieces. French centre back Aymeric Laporte scored from a corner in the reverse fixture and Paddy Power offers 9/1 he does so again as part of a City win. We’ll try that.

Juventus/Man Utd: Juventus to win 3-0, 1 pt, at 12/1, Paddy Power

Man City/Shakhtar: Laporte to score in City win, 1 pt, at 9/1, Paddy Power
