Sunday’s Premier League extravaganza starts at Anfield with Liverpool taking on Fulham.
The home will be smarting from a surprise defeat in Europe midweek and will be wanting to get their season back on track. And they couldn’t have asked for a better opponent, the league’s most porous defence.
We fully expect Liverpool to exact revenge for the loss to Red Star Belgrade with a thumping win today. The difficulty is finding value with the bookies also pricing up a healthy home win. We’re going to go down a well traveled path by suggesting a central defender to score from a set piece. Virgil van Dijk is 13/2 best price to score at anytime today, but Paddy Power offers 16/1 that he scores with his head. We’ll take that.
Next up is Everton’s visit to London to take on Chelsea. The visitors have shown some form this season but the home team should be too strong in a tight match.
One thing we noticed the last time Chelsea played in the league was the growing confidence of striker Alvaro Morata. Paddy Power offers an enhanced price that he opens the scoring with Chelsea winning either 2-0 or 2-1. We’ll be on that.
Arsenal take on Wolves later in the afternoon in what could be a tricky game for the hosts. The Gunners are on a nice run, but Wolves do keep possession very well and are capable of opening up most defences.
All that said we still think Arsenal will be too strong. They have a couple of inform strikers, and we’ll side with Alexandre Lacazette to open the scoring.
Finally, the big one, the Manchester derby. United pulled off a tremendous win midweek in Turin, dispatching Juventus, but however tricky that task was you can double it today!
City will remember the last time these two met at the Eithad, when they took their foot of the gas and let a 2-0 lead slip to a 3-2 loss. They will be determined not to lose again to the cross city rivals.
City winger Raheem Sterling has been playing very well of late, and we’ll take him to score in a City win.
