NAP OF THE DAY: Manshood, (1845 Newcastle), 1pt win, 7/2 generally available
Hugely interesting sprinter returned to these conditions. Has raced twice here, narrowly beaten last Summer and a crazily unlucky 9th here last time when getting no luck whatsoever. Cruised through that race and must surely go close with any luck this time.
Sleepy Haven, (1450 Wetherby), 7/2: has spent most of his career at 2m and this extra 4f is the big question. Ran really well at a stiff Hexham when pipped in the soft last week. Won’t mind any rain, and this one of the easier tracks to get this trip at. Must go close.
Se Mo Laoch, (1500 Punchestown), 7/2: won over hurdles at Kilbeggan in September before reverting to fences for a close second in a decent Galway race. A repeat of that should be enough to go really close here. The ground was soft then and may well be similar here by race time.
False Id, (1745 Newcastle), 9/2: ran really well here two runs ago over the stiff mile when leading at this distance before being overhauled late on. Worth forgetting a creditable fourth at Kempton subsequently where he had a terrible draw and did just about as well as he could.
