The Daily Yankee:
NAP OF THE DAY: False Id, (1845 Newcastle), 1pt win, 10/3 generally available
We were on this guy here last week when he overcame a terrible slow start to record an ultimately smooth win. He couldn’t pull off the same trick around Wolverhampton’s round track a few days later, but he’s back on a straight track now and that can help his usually tardy opening. Looks good value to repeat last week’s heroics.
Polybius, (1800 Kempton), 9/2: loves it here and has won all three starts. Had obviously edged up the weights accordingly, but his late closing style is difficult for the handicapper to get to grips with and he can go in again.
Verdana Blue, (1900 Kempton), 9/4: one of our all time favourites, this smooth travelling classy mare is a quality hurdler. She is unexposed on the flat after just one smooth success on debut. This is a huge step up in class, but she may well be up to it.
Nick Vedder, (1915 Newcastle), 13/8: a blog favourite, he immediately hit pay-dirt when switched to the all weather and was arguably unlucky here last week when a narrow second. This looks a weaker event, and off the same mark he must have an outstanding chance.
