NAP OF THE DAY: Cougar Kid, (1400 Leicester), 1pt win, 9/4 generally available
Has been in good form lately with two decent runner-up efforts. The latest was a superb closing effort in. Arrow defeat to subsequent winner William H Bonney. He was up against it there, but nearly pulled off the win. There is nothing of that winner’s class here, and it should be a simple job under regular jockey Brodie Hampson, who is more than value for her 5lb claim.
Ask The Tycoon, (1520 Hexham), 7/2: has excellent soft ground form in his back history and looked much better last time out. Soft at Hexham can be properly testing, and that would play into this guy’s favour and less so for some his main market opponent’s.
Get Back Get Back, (1815 Kempton), 5/2 : Very lightly raced with just four runs including two wins. Up just 4lbs for that latest win on handicap debut, but that was a deceptively good effort against some decent rivals. He always had the race won and was only finding enough, to our eyes there is plenty more in the locker.
Viola Park, (1915 Kempton), 3/1: an interesting handicap to close the day with a few potentially unexposed types. They though have to prove these conditions will suit, whereas Viola Park has few secrets from the handicap, but was a fine second here last time, has bottom weight, and is perfectly drawn. Looks a worthy market leader.
