NAP OF THE DAY: Bang On, (1445 Taunton), 1pt win, 6/1:
An interesting race where opposing favourite Asylo risks getting him wrong three times in a row having napped him in debut defeat , then left him next time when he won. That was workmanlike and he may not have much in hand. Fellow favourite Majestic Touch is getting a bit disappointing, and handicap newcomer Bang On looks the one. He has progressed well and won only his second hurdles event last time. The first two were miles clear and he may have been let in lightly.
Christmas In April, (1410 Taunton), 7/2: This French bred ran a blinder on seasonal debut over Cheltenham hurdles, he couldn’t back that up there last time. That was disappointing but that’s Cheltenham and this is Taunton. That’s a huge drop in class and he’s primed to recover the winning thread.
Princess Midnight, (1550 Taunton ), 3/1: showed absolutely nothing in five career starts until her handicap debut last time when finishing too late in a decent Exeter event ( the second has won since). The extra distance here should help. She’s not guaranteed to repeat that form, but still looks potentially very well weighted if she does.
Luxford, (2015 Chelmsford), 3/1: has winning form at this track and after a long spell in the doldrums finally got the wind back in her sales when finishing well for second at Kempton last time. This course can suit a late kicker, so she may have things pan out perfectly.
