Friday Yankee: Theatre of dreams…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Theatre Territory, (1430 Cheltenham), 2pts win, 7/2 generally available

This mare was a huge source of  last year, running consistently well at the top level without quite winning.  We napped her when third in top handicaps at Kempton and Aintree.  She returned this year by splitting two good novices here last month.  She remains on a winning mark off 132 and surely will land one of these soon under ace amateur Waley-Cohen.  This is arguably her easiest opportunity for some time.

Smaoineamh Alainn, (1320 Cheltenham), 5/1:  Useful mare who was a good winner of this race last year.  Only fractionally higher in the weights now, but has run conspicuously well in two races this season that would not have suited. Daryl Jacob does the steering and she may have as touch of class in this company.

Amazing Comedy, (1505 Cheltenham), 9/2:  aptly named contender for a Cheltenham cross country event.  This French raider has been here once before when 5th at the 2017 festival off level weights. He looks to have received some generous handicapping here on that effort.  He is 23lbs better off with Bless The Wings for 7 lengths that day, and gets a whopping 19lbs from favourite Josies Orders. Can take advantage of the rater’s leniency.

Great Trango, (1540 Cheltenham), 8/1:  This Irish raider is already a breeding conundrum having run well over a soft ground 3 miles at Listowel last time despite being by good ground miner Canford Cliffs.  Ran well on quick ground on the flat this Summer, is a better surface here may be all the added help he needs to win at this trip.
