Premier League: A Sane bet…

The Premier League weekend starts with the defending champions Manchester City hosting Everton in the early afternoon kickoff.

City were unlucky in defeat to Chelsea last weekend, but with Liverpool taking over top spot they know nothing but a win will do today. That said, David Silva has joined Kevin de Bruyne on the injured list and this could reduce their creativity a touch, particularly if Sergio Aguero is out.

They now face an Everton side which has rested during the week after Monday’s draw with Watford. Everton showed enough in defeat to Liverpool that they could cause City some problems.

Still, we expect City to win, probably with both teams scoring. However, our bet centres around the good form of Leroy Sane. The German winger is odds against to score at anytime today, a very good bet.

The late game is a London derby as Fulham host West Ham.

We at Lap of the Odds were sweet on Fulham at the start of the season, but defensively they have been a disaster. They lie at the foot of the table after conceding four at Old Trafford, and it’s difficult to see them keeping a clean sheet today.

West Ham started the season poorly, but have recently got into their stride. They have been helped by the form of Felipe Anderson. The Brazilian midfielder has started to shine, scoring two in his last three games. We’ll take the 11/4 on offer that he scores today against a weak defence.

Recommendation: Sane (Man City) and Anderson (West Ham) both to score anytime as a double, 1 pt, at approximately 17/2, Paddy Power
