Carabao Cup: King Power draw

We at Lap of the Odds have been wary about getting involved with the English League Cup, now known as the Carabao Cup, because of uncertainty over selection and effort. But teams are now at the quarterfinal stage and hopefully we can at least rely on them wanting to win!

Tonight sees two matches. We’ll leave the Middlesbrough/Burton clash alone, and concentrate on the televised game between Leicester and Manchester City.

There’s no denying Man City’s desire to win this tournament, they are the defending champions after all, but who they put onto the field is open to debate. Key striker Sergio Aguero hasn’t played since late November, while midfielders Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva aren’t match sharp. They could also rest regular starters with a busy festive period to come.

They will still put out a talented side but Leicester won’t be a pushover, especially at the King Power Stadium. The Foxes have yet a concede a goal in this season’s competition.

We can see this game going all the way, potentially to penalties, but will take the approximately 4/1 on offer that it finishes all square after 90 minutes.

Recommendations: A draw after 90 minutes, 1 pt, at 17/4, William Hill
