NAP OF THE DAY: Hazzaar, (1540 Ascot), 1pt win, 7/2 generally available
Looked really impressive in debut win here last month for his up and coming trainer. Takes on a strong field here, but retains Aidan Coleman and looked likely to learn plenty from his previous run. Looks more ready now than giant chasing type rival Eason.
Always Resolute, (1505 Ascot), 5/1: transferred from Brian Ellison to the Ian Williams yard before his last run and promptly improved hugely to win well at Wetherby under today’s young rider. May have more to give and should enjoy this track and makes more appeal than market rival Le Musée who may not be such an easy conveyance for his young jockey.
Hammer Gun, (1405 Southwell), 6/1: hugely experience Southwell all weather performer who has dropped to a mark of 79 here despite a good third last time. Six times a winner here, including his last win off 84, so should go well. Two younger rivals head the market but have question marks over trip and track.
Moonraker, (1440 Southwell), 6/1: has had a busy career but surprisingly has just the one run here. That was a very useful win in the Summer off 86. Lesser turf efforts and a couple of only ok Newcastle runs has seen his rating fall back to 87, and now returned to this surface he should go very well again.
