Premier League: Arsenal agony at Anfield?

The highlight of Saturday’s Premier League program sees Arsenal travel north to take on the league leader Liverpool.

Normally an attractive open game, we at Lap of the Odds fear this clash could be one-sided. The hosts have just started to kick into gear – they have won their last eight league games, scoring 22 and conceding only two.

Arsenal, by contrast, have stuttered of late and have disappointed against the likes of Southampton and Brighton. Their recent record at Anfield is also nothing to write home about, conceding 17 in their last five visit, while they have major injury problems in defence.

There is the danger that Liverpool put the game to bed early and then try to conserve energy ahead of a crucial game against Manchester City, but we’ll still take the 9/2 on offer from Paddy Power that they score more than 3.5 goals. After all, they have scored at least three goals in their last three home games against the Gunners.

Recommendation: Liverpool to score more than 3.5 goals, 1 pt, at 9/2, Paddy Power
