The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Ballydine, (1425 Newbury), 2pts win, 5/1 generally available
Lightly raced for his age but showed real chap h promise to beat some course specialists at Sandown in February. His reappearance 5th in the Rehearsal Chase was also packed with promise and this longer trip looks ideal. Can get the better of some heavily penalised recent winners.
Getaway Trump, (1500 Newbury), 6/1: Named after a commonly held sentiment, this gelding is on the rapid improve for man-of-the-moment Paul Nicholls. Has looked increasingly impressive at lower levels and looks ready to convert that to this higher grade. Favourite Champ deserves to be market leader but perhaps not this short and it could be another Christmas Grade One for Nicholls.
Presenting Julio, (1210 Leopardstown), 9/1: plenty of unexposed novices in this, but with the emphasis on inexperienced jockeys it can pay to look for some experience beneath the saddle. Presenting Julio is a regular in amateur races, is in form, capable of being placed at Cheltenham recently, and has stamina for further, which could be useful if they go too quickly as they often do in these races. Looks over priced.
Dragon D’Estruval, (1350 Newbury), 5/2: a losing nap for us when patently failing to stay the 3m trip here last time. Steps back to a more suitable distance here and looks to have landed in a very winnable event. Looks a safe bet.
