Monday Yankee: Jake on the make…

The Dr Newland debut system worked well for us yesterday as nap Jimmy Rabbitte landed a huge gamble (3/1 into 5/4) with ease.  Here’s hoping to sign off 2018 in style…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Jake Peter, (1425 Punchestown), 1pt win, 3/1 generally available

He has been in superb form of late with a sequence on the flat of 11221, and over hurdles of 12 since the Summer.  Was unlucky to run into a blot here last time when 2nd of 18 miles clear of the rest. Up a very manageable 4lbs for that and should get compensation.

Head Lad, (1225 Warwick), 1pt win, 5/2:  A low grade handicap for conditional jockeys isn’t usually tip territory.  However Jonjo Jnr is one of the best of his class in the saddle, and his dad looks to have set this one up for him with Head Lad.  The combination stayed on for a close 2nd of 17 at Chepstow last time, and this extra trip looks sure to suit.  The opposition looks nothing to be scared of.

Fight Commander, (1340 Uttoxeter), 9/2:  makes his seasonal and stable debut for young training force Olly Murphy.  He has been effective at finding improvement for imports, and this one arguably has a winning chance even on his form for previous trainer Sherwood.  Any improvement gives him a big chance and the booking of champion Johnson augurs well.

Sizing Cusimano, (1410 Uttoxeter), 4/1:  has been a little inconsistent on paper, but in the right class at this track he has been at his best.  Won from the front over a longer trip last time and will look to press on early over this shorter trip.  Loves the track and can go in again off a still favourable mark.
