NAP OF THE YEAR: Lostintranslation, (1325 Cheltenham), 1pt win, 3/1 generally available
A cracking renewal of the Dipper chase with former Triumph winner Defi Du Seuil continuing his climb back to the big time. This is a tough ask though with the excellent On The Blind Side and festival runner up Black Op to beat. However they may all struggle with Lostintransalation. He ran subsequent grade 1 winner La Bague Au Toi close on chase debut, and looked set to reverse that form until literally destroying a fence late on at Newbury. He has been a decent jumper barring that error, and can finally deliver on his promise here.
Rolling Dylan, (1250 Cheltenham), 7/2: ran a brilliant race here last time when just ran out of things late on by a couple of useful course specialists. Only a couple of pounds higher here but looks an easier field to dominate and can take his from the front.
Divine Spear, (1400 Cheltenham), 9/2: hard to assess after a light novice chase campaign, but that has him at the right end of the handicap here. Always good on seasonal debut, and seems significant that Henderson aims him at this big prize rather than an easier starting point. Can take advantage of the weight he gets from in form Aso, whose lifetime high mark looks formidable.
Aux Ptit Soins, (1435 Cheltenham), 11/2: could go either way from a promising comeback after a long lay off. May be worth chancing as his mark has reduced to almost the level of his Coral Cup win, and this wouldn’t be anything like as hard a race as that. Classy on his day and would be well in if at his best.
