Wednesday Yankee: Reap the Harvest…

A great win for nap Lostintranslation yesterday (3/1),  who along with Aux Ptit Soins (11/2), ensured a profitable start to 2019, but again a case of what might have been with previous blog picks Beware The Bear and Aso going in whilst sadly neglected this time. Still, can our naps stay unbeaten for the year?…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Harvest Day, (1815 Newcastle), 1pt win, 5/2 generally available

Back to the flat and this is essentially a rematch of a race here last month.  Chosen World was a good winner then and can again get the better of those close on his heels. But it’s Harvest Day that can come out on top having cruised through that event to finish 8th never having come off the bridle. He had absolutely no luck in running and left the impression he could have sluiced in given any daylight.  He can make amends.

Eaton Miller, (1320 Hereford), 7/2:  a consistent albeit a maiden hurdler, he made an excellent switch to chasing last time when a useful runner up at Huntingdon. Lots to dislike in his opponents here and he can finally get reward for his consistency.

Aye Right, (1440 Ayr), 3/1:  was a good winner of two Kelso events this autumn from the front before venturing down to the bright lights of Cheltenham. Sixth of 14 there was pretty creditable, and he can go close back in the shallower waters north of the border.

Royal Prospect, (1845 Newcastle), 2/1:  looks a match between old rivals Royal Prospect and Nick Vedder. Our pick today won their first duel. He has a bit to prove having been so lightly raced but he showed a great will to win last time, an asset sorely missing in the quirky Nick Vedder.
