The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Family Fortunes, (1550 Kempton), 1pt win, 3/1 generally available
Has been in outstanding form in recent weeks with a win and two seconds. Creeping up the weights slowly, but has a fast closing style that can be hard to catch up with. Loves this course and could have another win or two in him this Winter before the ratings catch him up.
Athassel, (1410 Kempton), 5/1: a 10yo veteran wouldn’t normally be first choice against far less exposed rivals, but he has been coming to the boil of late, and should be flying at the finish under the useful 7lb claim of Gina Mangan. Not one for the mortgage, but could be a nail-biting opportunity to juice up the returns.
Choral Music, (1445 Kempton), 8/1: habitually ignored in the market but has won an excellent 5 of her 10 handicaps, making her winning SP of 50/1 here two runs ago truly unbelievable. The handicapper only gave her a 2lb rise and she was again ignored at 16/1 when a very close fourth here last time. Looks likely to be overpriced again here as she may well only need to repeat that effort to go very close.
Big Time Frank, (1540 Lingfield), 5/4: has been in good form for Polly Gundry with two excellent seconds. We were on him last time and were unlucky not to collect. Gets the excellent Lorcan Williams in the saddle and although a bit higher in the weights, his looks there for the taking and he can anchor the yankee.
