There’s Monday night football in the Premier League this week, with Manchester City hosting Wolves.
The pressure is on the defending champions City as Liverpool’s win on Saturday increases their lead at the top of the Premier League back to seven points.
That said, City have been in cracking form since beating Liverpool a couple of weeks ago, putting nine past Burton and seven past Rotherham. Wolves are made of stronger stuff, they actually drew with City in the reverse fixture earlier this season, but they will have to be.
Wolves have caused all the top teams problems this season, but City look like they now have the bit between their teeth and we expect them to win.
City have scored at least twice in each of their last 12 home league games while Wolves struggled for a cutting edge against Liverpool in the league recently. We’ll take City to win 2-0.
Another bet also intrigues us. Tonight’s referee is Craig Pawson, who started the season handing out cards like confetti. However, his last three games have seen 0, 2 and 1 yellows, with the zero being Wolves against Liverpool. We’ll take a punt on no cards at a hefty 16/1.
City to beat Wolves 2-0, 1 pt, at 6/1, William Hill
No cards in the match, 1 pt, at 16/1, BetVictor
