Tuesday Yankee: Impressive Unit…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Unit Of Assessment, (1815 Kempton), 1pt win, 7/4 generally available

All weather champion Adam Kirby rode this guy to his two wins this time last year and must have thought he was making it three when quickening clear here last week only to be be caught near the line. A slightly longer trip today, and Kirby may look to hold on to him a fraction longer before using his speed. Should atone.

Bact To Black, (1510 Lingfield), 11/2:  favourite Hier Encore has been hiked to a lofty 97 and has to convert his low grade Fontwell form.  Bact To Black has course form having run a close third here last time, he also has the bang-in-form youngster Rex Dingle claiming a valuable 5lbs and with 6 wins from his last 13 rides.  Persuasive.

Arqalina. (1540 Lingfield), 6/4:  like so many of the Venetia Williams horses she has left her modest maiden form behind with an eye catching handicap debut third in a big field at Hereford.  This looks easier, she runs off the same basement mark, but gets 5lbs off from the excellent Lucy Turbed who has won on 2 of her 7 rides this season and can continue to repay the Venetia faith with an easy win here.

Storm Melody, (1945 Kempton), 9/4:  spent a long time on the turf before trying the all weather two runs ago.  An excellent staying on 3rd here was followed by a good win at Lingfield.  Jockey Charles Bishop will want to repeat the hold up tactics and should win granted a strong enough pace to aim at.
