Wednesday Yankee: Save budget for Exchequer…

A nice winning nap for Unit Of Assessment yesterday (advised 7/4), and we look to Kempton for the follow up…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Exchequer, (1900 Kempton), 1pt win, 5/2 generally available

In flying form with two stylish wins here advertised  by blinding early pace.  Is drawn to employ such tactics again under veteran lightweight strongman Franny Norton.  Up 6lbs for a smooth win last time and looks to have another race in him at this level.

Get An Oscar, (1435 Plumpton), 7/2:  hot favourite Mauna Kea looks worth taking on after being hiked up a full stone for an easy win.  Get An Oscar could be well in on his handicap debut off just 106.  He showed talent when staying on well at Wincanton last time and is bred to relish this additional distance.

Carlos De Fruitier, (1450 Newbury), 3/1:  looks well in here after his good third at Kempton in a race where the second and fourth have both won since.  Gets in off a rating 3lbs below his current mark, and the good ground is crucial and should help him stay this longer trip.  Weirdly, he was dismounted after pulling up twice last year only to be racing again soon after – barring a repeat of that, he should have a good chance here.

Soar Above, (1800 Kempton), 3/1:  on a roll after three straight wins but looks to still have room in his rating for at least one more win.  Travels well, and was impressive in victory last time for which he gets a manageable 5lbs extra.  Has only had eight races so plenty of room for further progress.
