Tonight sees the second leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal between Chelsea and Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, with Spurs holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg.
Despite trailing, Chelsea will start as slight favourites to qualify given Spurs have real problems with their forward line–Harry Kane and Dele Alli are injured and Heung-min Son is on international duty.
Tottenham used Fernando Llorente to replace Kane last weekend, to very limited effect, but they still have talented players in Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela to come into the side.
At the same time Chelsea haven’t been setting the world alight of late. They got a tongue lashing from manager Maurizio Sarri after their listless defeat by Arsenal on Saturday. This could prompt a reaction, but will it be positive or negative!
The conventional wisdom suggests a Chelsea win, but we think Tottenham offers the value. After all they have beaten today’s hosts on their last three meetings.
And speaking of value, Lamela is 7/1 with Unibet to score at anytime during the game, but he’s 7/2 in most other places. We’ll be on that.
Recommendations: Lamela (Spurs) to score at anytime, 1 pt, at 7/1, Unibet
