The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Strictlyadancer, (1630 Ludlow), 1pt win, 10/3 generally available
Very lightly raced and left his previous form behind when stepped up to this longer trip last time at Fakenham. Really won well there but only has a 5lb hike from the handicapper. Plenty of room in the rating of 97 for further improvement
Not So Sleepy, (1300 Kempton), 4/1: set to make a hurdling debut as a 7yo. He is rated a lofty 96 on the flat and should have bags of speed at a track that suits. That doesn’t always convert, but there is not much depth to this race after the two hot favourites. Neither of those two impress much, and they will be vulnerable if Sleepy takes to hurdles at all well.
King Cnut, (1440 Kempton), 3/1: hasn’t had much racing and struck gold last time in his second chase when storming home in fine style at Plumpton. Kempton’s flat track and sharp bends makes it the leading “big” course for reflecting “little” track form. An 8lb rise looks very manageable, whilst favourite Second Time Around jumped left last time out which could scupper his chances on this track which is often in the turn the other way.
Urtheonethatiwant, (1510 Kempton), 5/2: had shown absolutely nothing prior to his handicap debut last time at Warwick. Was obviously expected to take a step up when backed in to 11/4 fav in a 15 runner event. Ran ok in fourth then, and gets in here with a feather weight
