The Six Nations continues this afternoon, and the two games today have something to live up to after the fireworks in Paris last night.
First up is Italy‘s trip to Scotland. You never can tell with the Italian team, but surely if there are doubts about their strength in depth then the time to rely on them is first up. Additionally, while Scotland still have an electric back line they are a little battered up front and Italy could slow the ball down. We still think Scotland will win, but we’ll take the Italians with a 23 point start.
The late game is in Dublin where England will take on the the defending Six Nations champions Ireland.
Ireland are favourites, justifiably, and will be very hard to beat. They are a very professional outfit, coached by possibly the best staff in the world. We think they are likely to win today, but England will push them all the way and there is likely to be not much in it. Thus we prefer backing England with an 8 point head start.
Recommendations: Italy (+23) to cover the spread against Scotland and England (+8) to do the same against Ireland as a double, 1 pt, at 3/1, widely available
