The Premier League weekend kicks off early Saturday afternoon with Manchester United‘s trip to Fulham.
United have looked a little less impressive in their last couple of games, drawing against Burnley and scraping a win over Leicester. However, they have an excellent opportunity to get things back on track as Fulham have been simply awful against the top sides, losing 22 of their last 23 games against the top six teams.
One of the most positive elements of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s management has been the freeing up of Marcus Rashford, providing him the opportunity to show his talent. He looks full of confidence and we at Lap of the Odds benefitted from this last time out when we collected from him opening the scoring. (Premier League: Rush on Rashford…)
We’re not going to change this thinking, and will take advantage of Paddy Power’s power price of 11/2 that Rashford scores first again.
The late game sees Brighton host Burnley on the south coast. This game has all the makings of a tight occasion, with both teams unlikely to give much away.
The hosts haven’t been in great form of late, winning just one of their last 10 league matches but this includes three draws. Burnley are unbeaten in their last six games, a run which coincides with the return of Tom Heaton to their goal, but this also includes three draws.
We’re tempted to go for Burnley given their better recent form, but we note that Brighton have only been beaten three times at home this season – by Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.
Instead we’ll side with a draw, and the more adventurous could go for the goalless variety.
Fulham/Man Utd: Rashford to score first, 1 pt, at 11/2, Paddy Power
Brighton/Burnley: A draw, 1 pt, at 23/10, bet365
