The Six Nations continues this afternoon, with the first game Saturday being up at Murrayfield as Scotland host Ireland.
The two teams enter the match with different mindsets – Scotland buoyant after a bonus point win over Italy and Ireland hurting after a bruising home defeat to England.
The Scots will be confident of repeating their win of two years ago despite a number of injuries, particularly up front. However, the Irish were criticised for losing the forward battle last week and it will be interesting to see if they can respond today.
We think this Irish team have not become bad overnight, and we’ll take them to win today, overturning a six point handicap.
The second game sees Wales travel to Italy, with a much changed side after victory in Paris in the first round of matches.
We think these changes may mean Wales are slow to get into top gear. Although they may well beat a disappointing Italian side the 18 point handicap may be too much to breach. Let’s not forget Italy are a much better team at home, and the side they have selected has a better balance to it.
Recommendations: Ireland and Italy to be the respective spreads as a double, 1 pt, at 3/1, widely available
