The Premier League offers up a couple of cracking games today, culminating in Chelsea‘s attempt to do the double over defending champions Manchester City.
Liverpool’s win over Bournemouth yesterday means the gap at the top is back up to three points so City need to win today. They now face Chelsea, the one team to beat them in the league this season. That said, City have the best home record in the division, losing just once this season.
Chelsea have struggled away from home against the best sides in the country, losing each of their last four. It will be interesting to see if the introduction of Gonzalo Higuain makes a big difference.
We at Lap of the Odds expect City to win today, and think the 2/1 that bet365 offers that they do with both teams scoring is interesting. Instead we’ll go with a 2/1 score.
The early match sees Tottenham host Leicester, with their eyes also very much focused on the top of the Premier League.
Spurs lie only eight points off the top with this game in hand, and have done well to withstand the loss of the likes of Kane and Alli to injury without dropping too far behind.
One of the main reasons for this has been the form of Heung-min Son. The Korean missed some games due to international duties but is back and starring for Spurs. He has scored in his last two games and against a porous Leicester defence we take him to do so again. In fact, we’ll take the 6/1 on offer that he scores twice.
Recommendations:
Man City/Chelsea: 2-1 correct score, 1 pt, at 8/1, bet365
Tottenham/Leicester: Son to score twice, 1 pt, at 6/1, bet365
