You know it’s not your day when your selection gets brought down….in a bumper !!…Better luck today we hope.

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Lady Writer, (1520 Punchestown), 1pt win, 8/1 generally available

This mare has run well in all three handicaps, with two staying on efforts over shorter trips sandwiching a decent third over this course and distance.  She was beaten 4l by winner Global Racing.  That horse is favourite here, but Lady Writer is 8lbs better off which should technically place in in front, yet she’s three times the price.  Worth a dabble.

Sinoria, (1420 Punchestown), 7/2 : a very promising mare whose debut over hurdles suggested better to come, which it surely did when reversing debut form by almost 15l.  Was a big favourite for the Dublin racing festival but was withdrawn due to the quickening ground.  Has some decent novices to beat here but she could still be improving, gets the 7lb mares allowance, and looks nicely priced.

Impact Factor, (1550 Punchestown), 7/4 :  something of a nearly horse over both hurdles and now fences.  Has been campaigned as a good horse and runs with respect against some top novices.  This looks more winnable than most and he has now acquired a useful bank of experience for a novice.  Can pick up this prize on route to some of the top Speing handicaps.

Fitzhenry, (1620 Punchestown), 5/1; not many in form horses in this marathon test.  Some Neck has an obvious chance but it remains to be seen how he reacts to a crashing fall last time.  Fitzhenry is the solid choice, he runs well at this trip and ran really well in big handicaps at Fairyhouse and Leopardstown the last twice.  Jockey Mark Walsh is riding with confidence and can notch up a big win here.
