The fifth round of the FA Cup continues this afternoon, with three ties to look forward to.
First up is Bristol City hosting Wolves. The visitors have done very well in the league of late, and are rightly favourites to win this tie. However, it’s debatable how seriously they will be taking this given a Europa League spot is up for grabs. City are also flying, lying in fifth in the Championship with promotion a possibility. Now it’s true that would be a bigger prize, but with a home crowd behind them we can see City tearing into a hesitant Premier League team. We’ll take Bristol City to win.
The second game sees Doncaster host Crystal Palace. The visitors played very well in dumping Spurs out of the Cup last round, and they must have eyes on Wembley. They have a forward line that will cause the League One side problems and we take Palace to progress.
Finally, an all-Championship clash between Swansea and Brentford. This is a tricky tie to sort out, with both teams lying around half way in their league. However, Brentford have won just once away from home in the Championship all season. As a result we’ll take Swansea to take advantage of the home support to win the day.
Recommendations: Bristol City, Crystal Palace and Swansea to win as a treble, 1 pt, at approximately 17/1, widely available
