NAP OF THE DAY: Poker Party (1430 Naas), 1pt win, 5/1 generally available
A cracking Sunday handicap which includes several recent picks of ours. Kildorrey looks an impossible ride, whilst the seemingly cursed Impact Factor does not look especially well treated. But recent course winner Poker Party is only 7lbs up for an impressive win. He was better the further he went and is sure to be given a confident and aggressive ride from the excellent Rachael Blackmore.
Chosen Mate, (1500 Naas), 13/8: ran a blinder last time when just beaten by the very useful mare Sinoria at Punchestown. Had the rest well beaten then and there doesn’t appear to be an opponent of her standard in this field. He is a short priced favourite but should probably be a whole lot shorter.
Ming Dynasty, (1605 Naas), 5/1: was a beaten favourite when a close 5th here last time. Should go close if repeating that and can use his flat speed on this drying ground. Those ahead of him in the market have a bit to prove and this could be a lesser race than that last form.
Midnight Run (1705 Naas), Evens: This bumper used to be a good guide to Cheltenham until moved in the schedule and gazumped by the Dublin racing festival. It may still be indicative though as current Cheltenham favourite has a 4l verdict over Midnight Run. That is by some margin the best form on offer and with Joseph O’Brien’s horses continuing in excellent form this should be a penalty kick.
