NAP OF THE DAY: African Blessing, (2030 Kempton), 1pt win, 10/3 generally available
Made a rare step back in trip to 6f at Lingfield last time and looked capable of better with a clear run. As a mostly 7f specialist and a hold up horse he’d need a longer straight than Lingfield and he gets that here. Plenty of pace in the race and perfectly drawn to do the stalking and no better man than Spencer for that tactic
Purple Paddy, (1730 Kempton), 11/4: really caught the eye here in victory last week. Held up well back, he took time to enter the fray, but weaved through and surged clear. Looked like a horse capable of winning more whilst in hot form. Course form crucial against a favourite whose for has one elsewhere.
Blame Culture, (1930 Kempton), 3/1: a lot of deadwood in this race and not many at all in any kind of form. Blame Culture has two wins this calendar year, should enjoy a strong run race that will allow home to settle, and is nicely drawn.
Sir Ottoman, (2000 Kempton), 9/2: came from France rated 95 and it’s been a long way down to his rating today of 65. Has started to look ready to win, should enjoy this track, and the presence of some confirmed front runners will hopefully allow home to be ridden a shade less aggressively as a stalking ride looks like the tactic for this race.
